When we first started talking about Hullabaloo, we knew that we had some of the core skills needed to organize such an event, but we knew we couldn’t do it alone. Danielle and Joe (of Wishbone Letterpress, and the founders and craft fair wizards of Hullabaloo) could do the design work and handle most of the logistics, while Courtney (whose other hat is as a copywriter and marketing consultant, doing business as Seventh Cloud Creative Solutions) could handle the writing and marketing tasks. But, while we knew we didn’t want to make any profit from organizing Hullabaloo, pulling off something like this is no small task, and as starving artists and young entrepreneurs on a shoestring budget, we need the help of some like-minded folks who appreciate our mission and understand Hullabaloo’s concept. In order to make this event as epic as we envision, we put out a call to sponsors to help us…

• pay for printing of posters and postcards

• add all the fun elements (such as a DJ, mascot, decorations, and more!) that are necessary to

encouraging the party-like atmosphere that is part of what will make Hullabaloo unique.

• put on an exciting event where we can collect funds for The Queens Galley food pantry, because part of Hullabaloo’s goal is to craft a stronger community.

The fantastic business owners above answered our call for help and are making Hullabaloo possible— so please support them in return! Thanks, sponsors, for being part of the party!

Inspiring Future Makers at Livingston Street’s Kids’ Craft Table!

Three words you won’t hear at Hullabaloo: “Mom, I’m borrreeedddd…”  Meltdowns at the mall?  Kids stay happy at Hullabaloo!

Thanks to Cheryl Demuth of Livingston Street Early Childhood Community, who is running Hullabaloo’s kids’ craft table, the whole family will be entertained and engaged while you shop, munch, and play at Hullabaloo!

Cheryl is the director of the Livingston Street Early Childhood Community in Kingston, a small, non-profit full-day preschool program for 3-5 year-olds.  “At our core, Livingston Street believes that emotional well-being and social competence are nourished in the young child through meaningful relationships with peers, caregivers, and through exposure to the outdoors,” says Cheryl.  Kids who meet Cheryl have made a friend for life—she’s warm, fun, and knows just how to relate to them while providing a nurturing educational experience.  Parents love her too—as one of the testimonials on www.livingstonstreet.org states “I feel so happy to say that all my child really needs to know she learned at Livingston Street.”

At Hullabaloo, Cheryl will be guiding children from preschool age to twelve years old through a craft project that engages their imagination and encourages their creativity.  The kids will get to bring home their creations and may be inspired to become “makers” themselves.

Thanks, Cheryl, for inspiring these future artists—Hullabaloo vendors in the making!

Ham It Up at Hullabaloo with Peter Demuth Photography!

The Hullabaloo Team is super-psyched that Peter of Peter Demuth Photography will be running The Hudson Valley Hullabaloo’s winter wonderland photo booth at our first annual event!

With a stash of fun props, an engaging personality, and his awesome photography skills, Peter can make even the most difficult subjects (read: impatient husbands, cranky toddlers, your overly reserved BFF) have serious fun in front of the camera!  His photo booth at BSP’s 1913 celebration last New Year’s Eve was a blast, and we can’t wait to see the goofy antics, good times, and holiday smiles that he captures at Hullabaloo.

Awarded The Knot’s Best of Weddings Award in 2012 and 2013, Peter is best known locally for his wedding photography and wedding photo booths.  But this is just the tip of the iceberg of Peter’s talents: He is also a renowned portrait and commercial photographer, the Technical Director of Photography and Graphic Design Programs at SUNY New Paltz, and his photos have been published internationally.

Holiday photo prints and photo cards will be available for purchase, so cancel that department store studio appointment!  Bring your family, bring your friends, (bring the Hullabaloo winter bear!), and get those matching holiday sweaters out of storage…because your family photo just went from awkward to awesome!
