Vendor Feature: PetitFelts, Good Fight Herb Co., Lock & Key Leathers, Jewels by JaimeLynn, and Lovefield Vintage

We’ve worked hard to curate an event that offers something for everyone—for everyone on your gift list, for anyone’s budget, and to cater to many different tastes and interests. These five Hullabalooers are great examples of the diversity in our vendors…Whether you’re looking for a super-special gift for a new baby’s nursery, want to encourage a healthier lifestyle, need a present for a restless traveler, want to give a piece of everyday elegance, or are looking mix up your wardrobe with some timeless articles of clothing, Hullabaloo has got a vendor for you!

PetitFelts, Copake, NY

Jocelyn hand-dyes and needle-felts little critters with big personalities! She puts a ton of love into every one, carefully sculpting them into realistic miniatures and giving each an expression and a story (Gertrude the Octopus used to terrorize ships, but she’s given that up to lead underwater tours; Rimbaud the swan wants you to know he’s more than just his graceful good looks!). Jocelyn’s animals are accurate down to every last detail and fascinating to admire. Her pieces can be used as finger puppets and are great for interacting with children of all ages. However, they are also delicate artwork and some even have tiny party hats, so it’s best to consider them more decorative than playthings. Sit them on a shelf and they can be enjoyed for years to come! In addition to the finger puppet pieces, Jocelyn makes brooches (which can also serve as ornaments or be mounted on the wall like tiny, felted taxidermy) and has added mobiles to her line. This is Jocelyn’s first Hullabaloo and we are so thrilled to have her and help her charming creatures find good homes!

Good Fight Herb Co., Germantown, NY

With some help from their “medicinal herbs for mighty health,” Lauren of Good Fight Herb Co. reassures you that “you are good medicine.” An herbalist, healer, and educator, Lauren grows, gathers, and sources the organic herbs used in her blends, sprays, tonics, tinctures, and other natural remedies. She’s got the solution for whatever ails you—whether you’re broken-hearted (Self-Love Potion #9), are battling anxiety during a difficult time (Deep Breath De-Stress Blend), need a good night’s sleep (Sleep Tight), or are battling the sniffles (Kick a Cold Blend).  She’s also got some little items that can be packaged with her remedies for a great gift! Want to bring an ailing friend something better than chicken soup? Wrap up Lauren’s Kick a Cold Blend with a handmade hanky! Somebody need a little reminder to take their medicine? A medicine shot pot, made custom for Good Fight, pairs perfectly with any potion! This is Good Fight’s first Hullabaloo, so stop by to stay well!

Lock & Key Leathers, Kingston, NY

Crystal of Lock & Key Leathers considers each of her bags a story…from how the bag drapes when it’s held to where she sources her materials—so much goes into each piece that sometimes she dreams all night about making patterns, or is up at night worrying about details like how long to make the handles of a new tote. The love and attention to detail that goes into each of Crystal’s bags is apparent in the fine workmanship and beautiful designs. Made of leather and waxed canvas, much of her work is intentionally well-loved-looking, because they’re made for adventurers with wanderlust. Whether it’s a ruggedly luxurious tote, a distressed cross-body bag, a beautifully battered wallet, a wonderfully worn clutch, or some other accessory, your new favorite will feel like an old, familiar favorite. She’s been collaborating with her husband too, and he’s now tooling his artwork on some of Crystal’s pieces, to make them extra-special!  The best part? The more you use them, the more character they collect. It’s Crystal’s third Hullabaloo and we’re so glad she’s been with us from the beginning.

Jewels by JaimeLynn, Delmar, NY

We love Jaime’s delicate, feminine jewelry, which she describes as “simple jewelry for everyday, graceful wear” that are designed to enhance your natural beauty. Using high-quality gemstones and precious metals, Jaime has added gold to her line since last year, when she primarily worked in silver. Jaime’s work is refreshingly uncomplicated, allowing the beauty of the materials to really shine through. We LOVE her stackable gemstone bar bracelets, and her understated necklaces that are perfect for layering. Wouldn’t any lady on your shopping list love to find a box from Jewels by JaimeLynn in her stocking? We know we would! You can’t go wrong with her versatile pieces that look great on anyone, no matter what their style! We’re so happy to have Jaime back!

Lovefield Vintage, Kingston, NY

Imagine the best styles and pieces from every era…What do you see? The racks of Lovefield Vintage? Because that’s what comes to mind for us! What are you coveting right now? Darbie just might have it—or can find it! Everything on Lovefield’s racks is there because Darbie loves it (not just because it’s old) and has a vision for how it can be mixed with other finds from various periods and styles.  Darbie’s collection is so carefully curated and she’s got such an eye for picking out unique pieces and putting them together with other awesome things! She’s got everything from 60s cocktail frocks to 90s ruffled baby doll blouses—and men’s stuff too, like well-worn denim, vintage tees and flannels…Shoes, jewelry, and other accessories have a place on her shelves too. We’re thrilled to have Darbie back for her second Hullabaloo, and we can’t wait to see what she’s found for us this year!

vendors

Vendor Feature: Hudson Naturals, LAYERXLAYER, Nadine Medina Designs, and Kelly & Co.

It’s not easy, looking at these vendors’ websites all day…sometimes we get distracted from our Hullabaloo work and find ourselves shopping instead! We encourage you to do the same—take a break and check out these vendor’s websites. Be sure to make some notes…because you’ll want to check out their work in person and pick up a few gifts (and treat yourself) at Hullabaloo!

Hudson Naturals, Gardiner, NY

Christina makes her ultra-moisturizing cold-processed soaps and skincare products (lip balm, scrubs, shaving soap, liquid soaps, and more) from avocado oil that would otherwise be discarded. Avocado oil is the world’s healthiest oil…rich in Vitamin E, it’s good for you inside and out, so we’re so thrilled that Christina found a way to way to make something nourishing out of the surplus from her boyfriend’s business, d’AVO Extra Virgin Avocado Oil. Scented only with essential oils (no artificial fragrances or perfumes), her products are great for people with sensitive skin.  Since last year’s Hullabaloo, Christina has expanded her line of skincare products and also added candles to her offering, so we’re so glad to have her back so we can try them all! Her luxurious soap just sort of melts into you as it hydrates, so we can’t wait to stock up! You should too! Her soaps make great stocking stuffers (the packaging is so pretty, though, they may hesitate to use them!), or, arrange a few items for a thoughtful gift!

LAYERXLAYER, Milford, CT

LAYERXLAYER will be at Hullabaloo for the first time, offering their handmade totes and backpacks, as well as small wooden objects from their line, AWN. Their bags are so much more than high-end design…they’re flawlessly engineered and stylishly utilitary (we might have made that word up, but “utilitarian” just doesn’t suit these beautiful, highly functional bags!). A tote that not only has a paracord pull and a zipper, tons of pockets, and custom hardware, but also straps that convert it into a super-comfy backpack when you need both hands? GENIUS. (And perfect for travel!) And with the same balance of functionality and modern design, AWN offers these amazing wooden clamps for your desk or table, with branches perfect for hanging everything from your hat to your pencils (stylishlyheld in their wooden and copper hanging vessels). These (and any of LAYERXLAYER and AWN’s other beautiful, useful things) would make AMAZING gifts for someone special or for yourself, so stop and see them at Hullabaloo!

Nadine Medina Designs, Troy, NY

Nadine’s designs are fierce. They’re intended to “let your inner fierce out” and “make a simple white tee feel more like a party dress” and they do just that. Nadine incorporates various textures, unexpected bling, geometric shapes, subtly bold chains and metals, and sometimes rough-around-the-edges stones and gems, to create fabulously bad-ass pieces where high-fashion meets wearable design. We love wearing her statement pieces with basics and neutrals because they DO make even the plainest of pieces into a stunning, ready-for-anything outfit.  With necklaces, rings, bracelets, and earrings in a wide range of prices (and various degrees of fierceness), you’ll find that Nadine’s jewelry makes a fantastic gift! This is Nadine’s first Hullabaloo, so please stop at her table and say hello!

Kelly & Co., Plainfield, MA

Erin and her Uncle Don are Kelly & Co., a “small and sturdy collection of thoughtfully designed handmade goods.” Erin designs and sews simple products for homes and people—like aprons, dishtowels, napkins, blankets, bags, scarves, sachets, dolls, bibs, and lunch sacks) out of linen, waxed canvas, and wool. Her palette is earthy and so are her materials, so her products feel familiar and homey. Don lathe-turns rolling pins and hair sticks from local hard woods.  His wood products are heirloom quality and make memorable gifts! Their work shares a refined simplicity and functional beauty—which just makes you want to throw on one of Erin’s gorgeous pinafore aprons and roll out some pie dough! We’re so pleased that Erin and Don are bringing their fine products to this year’s Hullabaloo!

Event, Party, vendors

Vendor Feature: Ash & Anchor, Honeybrook Farms, Ann Egan Jewelry, and Boneshaker Print Shop

It’s that time in the Hullabaloo countdown—time to start introducing some of our awesome vendors! Two of them you’ve met at past Hullabaloos…and two are new friends. All are incredible additions to our line-up! Read about them below:

Ash and Anchor, Catskill, NY

We just LOVE Nina Pace’s bold yet-intricate patterns and everything she puts them on! Designed for the bohemian at heart, Ash and Anchor offers scarves, pillows, tea towels, serving platters, and more in truly unique designs that combine elements of flora and fauna, geometry and geology, astronomy, mythology, and more into a beautiful organic collision. Each time you look at one of Nina’s beautiful patterns, you discover something new about it—a snake weaving around the mandala-like image in the center of a platter, the Victorian-inspired roses on a pillow that remind you of your grandma’s house, how perfectly the background pattern of a scarf echoes the diamond in the focal point. We think everyone deserves to surround themselves with art…so pick out something for a few of your favorite people when you stop and say hello to Ash and Anchor at her first Hullabaloo!

Honeybrook Farms, Pine Bush, NY

Welcome back to Hullabaloo, Honeybrook Farms!  Their 100% natural honey and honey bee products are completely raw, unprocessed, uncooked, strained-only, and local—coming “direct from the beehive to you!” Todd has been a beekeeper since 1968, learning from a master beekeeper in Germany as a kid—and trust us, there’s a lot to learn!  Honeybrook offers wildflower honey, buckwheat honey, bee pollen and more, wholesaling to customers from the apiary in Pine Bush, and selling at local events. This year, they added jams made with honey to their line, and we CAN’T WAIT to try it!

Ann Egan Jewelry, Kingston, NY

Ann Egan’s jewelry combines traditional elegance with intricate, exotic design. With juxtapositions of shapes and colors reminiscent of other art forms (think: mosaics, stained glass, and certain styles of painting), Ann’s work takes on a distinct aesthetic that melds different periods and styles (you can see the influence of her art history roots!). She uses semiprecious stones, Austrian crystals, Czech and Bohemian glass, and seed beads mosaicked into original brass castings, which have been oxidized for a vintage feel. This is Ann’s first Hullabaloo and we’re so excited to have her! Her beautiful and unique earrings, necklaces, and bracelets would be a big hit with the ladies in your life so be sure to check Ann’s table out!

Boneshaker Print Shop, Kingston, NY

Have you seen people walking around with those super-cool Kingston t-shirts? You know, the COOL ones! Yeah, now you know what we’re talking about: The old-school Stockade District map shirts, the retro uptown Kingston New York shirts, the “Stockade Names” tees, the Trail Marker tees, the Midtown Arts District tees? Steve from Boneshaker hand-screens clothing and accessories that pay tribute to our awesome City of Kingston. His shirts have sold out at both previous Hullabaloos, so get there early to grab yours! He’s also bringing along hoodies, bags, and beanies this year, so you can show your Kingston pride from head to…well, hip at least. And hip they are: these aren’t your typical tourist t-shirts—these original designs reflect Kingston’s cool vibe, historic hipness, and authentic, loveable grit!
